Miracles

4', for high voice and piano, text by Walt Whitman

Miracles was written during a very short period of time in the Winter of 2010. The work is a setting of a Walt Whitman poem that, like many by Whitman, is something of a catalogue, asking the reader why any particular thing in life is a miracle when everything around us could be considered a miracle. Miracles was first performed by Anna Diemer, accompanied by Anna Schmitz, in the Summer of 2013.

As I Ponder'd in Silence

As I Ponder'd in Silence was first performed by Frances Pollock, accompanied by Anna Schmitz, in the Summer of 2013.
